With the BPS submission deadline looming- just 9 days to go! DEFRA  have just released that Farmers in England are going to benefit from  a 50% advance in this years Basic Payment Scheme support. This decision has been made in line with the increasingly high input costs, which will help ease  cashflow for farm businesses.

Payments will be paid in July, which will then be balanced with the payment in December. With all the continued changes in agriculture, and English Farmers facing a minimum payment cut of 20% this year, meaning this decision to advance payment will be welcomed by many farmers in spite of all of the pressing challenges.
