We have welcomed the Government’s commitment to build a Llanymynech-Pant bypass as part of yesterday’s Budget announcement but warn landowners to seek expert advice when it comes to the related compulsory purchase orders.
The announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi, Sunak, stated the UK Government will allocate £10million of funding into a consultation for the long-awaited bypass on the A483 between Llanymynech and Pant. The plans also feature extensive improvements to road infrastructure along the A5 into Shropshire and north Wales.
Richard Corbett, Partner with Roger Parry & Partners said, “Yesterday’s announcement is good news for the local economy and should provide a boost for residents, businesses and tourists both sides of the border. We are all aware that the campaign for a bypass has been ongoing for decades.”
Richard added, “If, however, you are a landowner in the area you might be affected by this decision. For expert advice on compulsory purchase and compensation we would urge you to get in touch with us. Our professionals have extensive experience in this field and will ensure that sufficient time and care is taken to guarantee the best deal for you, the landowner.”
