Beth Hanson, a placement student with Roger Parry and Partners has recently been awarded the Buccleuch Estates Prize as Harper Adams University Rural Enterprise and Land Management (REALM) placement student of the year.
Beth Hanson, from Herefordshire, completed her placement year at Roger Parry and Partners Minsterley office, shadowing and working alongside senior partner Roger Parry on a wide variety of work undertaken as a Chartered Surveyor including; valuations, compulsory purchase schemes, in-depth SPS/BPS projects, planning consultancy work and more.
“I feel really honoured to achieve such a prestigious award,” said Beth. “It was a really nice surprise that I hope will stand me in good stead in the future. I’d like to thank Roger Parry and his team for providing me with an excellent placement year and I am very grateful for all of their time and support.”
Congratulating Beth on her achievement, Roger Parry said, “She was an exceptional student and I am pleased that such an excellent student has won this award and wish her well for the future.
“It is important as a profession that we help to train the next generation of Chartered Surveyors. Each year we employ at least two placement students from Harper Adams University REALM Course and like to see each student develop their confidence and knowledge whilst working in real-life situations.”
“We also aid their progression through the Assessment of Professional Competence which will eventually lead to them becoming Chartered Surveyors under the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. After completing their year with us, the students return to Harper Adams University to finish their final year of study before graduating.”
This year Roger Parry and Partners have employed Emily Fortune from Yorkshire who is based in the Welshpool office and Zoe Davies from Herefordshire who works from the Minsterley office.
Roger Parry and Partners will soon be looking to employ one graduate and two placement students, if you’d like further information contact one of your local Roger Parry and Partners offices.
