Planning Update by Paul Middleton, Partner

10th January 2017

A new year and already the planning team at Roger Parry & Partners are seeing enquiries coming in, which signal another busy and exciting year ahead.

Last year saw our team deal with over 300 planning submissions to local authorities and when one considers a near 100% success rate, it enforces the level of knowledge and expertise that our planning team can provide. Please, look at the planning page on our website to see what we have achieved for clients.

Unlike many, we will gladly provide a free first meeting to give an honest and helpful appraisal of the project, together with a follow up email or letter setting out a clear and transparent evaluation of anticipated professional and consultant fees.

The information required by councils to support applications can be very costly, so we feel it is very important for a client to be aware of these costs from the outset. Our experience also enables us to see where additional costs could arise during the course of an application, and perhaps mitigated against by correctly addressing such issues at an early stage.

Last year we were heavily involved with gaining consents for clients in Shropshire whilst the Council could not demonstrate a five-year housing land supply. This requirement is proving troublesome for Powys County Council and we are now helping our clients to achieve residential planning in sustainable areas of mid Wales on a regular basis.

Shropshire Council is currently undertaking a review of its adopted local plan and as part of this it is required to include a ‘call for sites’. We are helping clients promote new potential sites for development, so please contact any one of our offices if you would like advice and assistance putting your land forward.

Our team of planning professionals are always friendly and approachable, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need advice. Whatever your project entails we have the knowledge and ability to help you.
