Banks are warning there are increasingly sophisticated fraudsters contacting farmers in scams that are costing the industry tens of thousands of pounds. With open public access to the BPS registers, farmers details and payment amounts are easily accessed. We would warn farmers to be vigilant and NOT to pass any form of personal or business details to anyone that contacts you, unless you’re sure you know who they are.
