Exciting information was released by DEFRA yesterday following the Agricultural Transition Period (ATP) regarding the Productivity and Resilience theme of Slurry Investment Scheme funding. This has been demanded highly by Farmers in England with Slurry Stores for increasing storage availability up to 6 months.
The funding involves items such as:
Following the new slurry and manure rules in England an additional criteria within the grant if successful on application, is all new grant funded stores have to be fitted with an impermeable cover. This idea is to help prevent rainfall from entering stores and to reduce air pollution.
Grants will cover up to 50% of eligible costs, with the minimum available £25,000 and maximum £250,000.
It is to note this round of the Slurry Storage is just for Pig, Beef and Dairy farmers and does not include storage for digestate slurry.
In terms of application, the eligibility checker will come available in the beginning of Autumn, which will help assess if your application is of higher priority to others applying for the scheme.
