We’ve seen a huge increase in the volume of enquiries about the SFI scheme for farmers in England and have put together some very high paying schemes for farmers. The Prime Minister announced this week (20^th February 2024) that the Management Payment will be doubling in the first year of the scheme, up to £2000, which he hopes will give farmers extra incentive to join.

If you have not considered the scheme before we would encourage you to take a look. BPS payments in 2024 will continue to reduce and the SFI can create an important additional income stream. A brief outline of the scheme is below:

• Open for applications all year round
• A range of different Actions available to suit a range of farms
• A 3 year agreement will be given, but you can add in more Actions every year
• 50 more Actions are being released in the Summer
• DEFRA increased the payment rates of the Actions by 10% in January 2024
• You can apply for a new SFI agreement alongside existing HLS and Mid Tier agreements
• Flexibility to add Actions and Land to the scheme throughout the agreement
