>We are encouraging those who are considering applying for planning in England to act fast as delays in Parliamentary approval mean the legislation to increase fees by 20 per cent will not come into force until the New Year.
>Currently there is no fixed date for the changes to the fees to take effect. The draft legislation, which calls for the 20% increase to fees, was laid before Parliament in October but according to the ‘Town and Country Planning Act’ any fee amendments have to be approved by both houses of Parliament before they become ‘made. At present the proposed changes have not been listed on the House of Commons order of business.
>Richard Corbett, Partner and Chartered Surveyor with Roger Parry & Partners said, “If you are considering applying for planning then now is the time to do it. Once the legislation is approved it will come into force just 28 days later. As always, our team of planning experts are on hand and happy to help with the application process, from start to finish.
>“With a reputation for sound local knowledge and dedication to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of legal developments and government policy, Roger Parry & Partners are always able to ensure that clients are at the forefront of the planning process. Our team work closely with clients to develop a brief that will deliver on design, functionality, budget and timing.”
