Vantage Farm Development

Having identified a suitable site, situated next to Vantage Farm, Bletchley, Market Drayton. Harrison Farms is seeking planning permission for a poultry farm with an associated biomass boiler.

Harrison Farms, an established local dairy enterprise is currently consulting the public on proposals to develop a poultry farm with an integral biomass boiler to generate environmentally friendly energy.

The proposal will bring employment opportunities, both on-site where it is anticipated that 2.5 jobs will be created and throughout the local area as associated contracts are fulfilled.

When complete it is planned that the site will produce 2.4 million birds per year.

Environmental Credentials

All aspects of the proposal will comply with environmental regulations. This includes light, noise, odour, pollution. Roger Parry and Partners have carried out a full Environmental Impact Assessment which concluded that there will be no significant impact on the flora, fauna or water courses, or human environment in the area as a result of this development.

Bird Welfare

Animal welfare is our top priority and plans are to the Assured Poultry Meat standards that has minimum requirements for assuming maximum bird welfare such as bedding depth, provision of water, light etc.

Animal Welfare is Harrison Farms' top priority and it is planned to grow chicken for the retail trade - all chickens grownto Assured Poultry Meat Standard that has minimum requirements for acheiving maximum welfare such as bedding depth, adequate provision of water, light, space etc.
