Are you a property landlord in Wales? Did you know that you have to be Rent Smart Wales compliant by 23 November 2016?
The Welsh Government has introduced Rent Smart Wales to register and licence landlords and agents in Wales in order to protect tenants. Rent Smart Wales process landlord registrations and grant licences to landlords and agents who need to comply with the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. In order to register, a landlord must provide accurate and up-to-date information about themselves and their rental properties in Wales. After registering landlords must also either complete the training course and apply for a license or appoint an agent, like Roger Parry & Partners, to manage the property for you. The scheme is not applicable in England.
Roger Parry & Partners can help landlords become Rent Smart Wales compliant. Roger Parry said, “We have been surprised by how many landlords have got in touch with us recently as they were not sure how to register with Rent Smart Wales. As one of the leading lettings agencies in mid and north Wales we have trained our staff so they can take the stress out of the registration process. With only a few weeks to go until the deadline I would urge those that haven’t registered already to get in touch and we can help.” If you are re-considering being a landlord as a result of the new licence requirement, then Roger Parry & Partners can help as they can take on the management of your rental property and manage it on your behalf.
If landlords choose to use the services of a lettings agent, such as Roger Parry & Partners, then they don’t have to undertake the training or licensing required by the Welsh Government scheme, passing all responsibility to the managing agent.
Roger Parry concluded, “For more details and information on how Roger Parry & Partners can help ensure you are Rent Smart Wales complaint by 23 November visit our office in Welshpool or Oswestry."
