    The European Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan has confirmed that Member States may choose to extend the BPS 2015 submission deadline to Monday 15th June. Whilst this is optional, DEFRA has said it will take up such an option. Wales and Scotland have not as yet given any indication.

    Stewardship Schemes – new paper claim requirement

    Farmers are now receiving paper claim forms from Natural England in respect of existing Higher and Entry Level Stewardship agreements. Clients are reminded that this claim form must be completed and returned by May 15th to ensure your payment is forthcoming. Payments are no longer automatic.

    Clients must register on GOV.UK regardless of whether they are using the land for Basic Payment Scheme purposes. Land must be shown against their business on the system even if there is a dual use scenario.

  • Water Capital Grant Scheme now open

    Water capital grant scheme now open for applications

    Farmers in England can now apply to Natural England for a water capital grant of up to £10,000 to help them carry out works that will improve water management and quality on their land. The scheme which is the first phase of the new Countryside Stewardship portfolio builds on the Catchment Sensitive Farming Grant which it replaces.

    The deadline for completed applications to be returned to Natural England is 30 April 2015.

    Roger Parry and Partners are pleased to announce that a sale has been agreed subject to contract of land formerly part of Mansion House Farm, Ford, within weeks of launch.  Partner, Roger Parry said:  'This excellent block of fertile pasture and arable land attracted a great deal of interest and a sale was agreed in excess of the guide.   Both the level of interest and price agreed indicate that the land market remains firm as we enter 2015.'  

    The property extends to 57 acres (23 ha) or thereabouts and was available as a whole.

    All English claiments will need to register with the Rural Payment Online system, regardless of whether you've completed your Single Payment form online or not.

    The Rural Payments Online system is now open to registrations for all Basic Payment Scheme claimants in England. Everyone claiming in 2015 will need to do this. The earlier you can do this the better as we anticipate a large backlog of claimants trying to register in the weeks running up to the 15th May deadline.
