Compulsory Purchase & Compensation

Utility and other statutory companies concerning Water, Electricity, Gas and Telecommunications (such as Severn Trent Water, Central Networks, BT, Network Rail) and other Local Authorities and Highway Authorities will often request access onto your property in order to do works to their property, apparatus or to construct/erect new apparatus or facilities.

Local Authorities and Highways Authorities, or their contractors may look to agree access to your land for other purposes such as storage of equipment or materials. The utilities and highways may also look to compulsory purchase your land. Take informed advice from the start to ensure your position is fully protected.

It is essential that any authority or contractor is not permitted access until professional advice is obtained. Roger Parry & Partners LLP have extensive knowledge of dealing with such utility and authorities on a daily basis. We understand their requirements as well as the land owner’s in order to negotiate a mutual, and in some cases, beneficial agreement between the parties. We aim to ensure the best possible settlement using a determined approach, putting the client's needs first.

If you instruct us to act on your behalf against, our fees will be paid by the utility company or highways authority. Contacting us for professional advice early is very important and takes the stress out of having your land disturbed or damaged in the process of works, or even having been compulsorily purchased, to ensure that you are properly compensated.

Know your rights - contact Roger Parry & Partners prior to agreeing to any access and obtain the best advice.
